Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the grand opening of
Ferguson Enterprises, Inc.'s new distribution facility in
Coxsackie. Ferguson Enterprises, the nation's largest wholesale
distributor of residential and commercial plumbing supplies, has
committed to create 95 new jobs at the facility and retain 319
retail jobs across the state with the completion of this
project.
"Today is yet another great example of how New York is open for
business," Governor Cuomo said. "With fierce competition from other
states, we're proud that Ferguson chose New York and the Capital
Region to invest, grow and create jobs. I welcome them to their new
home in Greene County and look forward to their continued success."
The $40.5 million project includes a 460,000 square-foot warehouse
in the Fountain Flats Business Park and was made possible by $1.2
million in performance-based Excelsior Jobs Program Tax Credits from
Empire State Development. The 95 new jobs at the facility have
already begun to be filled and are focused on distribution
operations on the floor.
Coxsackie was selected over locations in both Connecticut and Rhode
Island to serve as home to Ferguson's first northeast distribution
center. The facility's location along the New York State Thruway,
provides the company with better access to its stores in upstate New
York and throughout New England.
Senator George Amedore said, "The opening of Ferguson Enterprises'
new distribution center is great news for the entire area. This new
facility will create good-paying jobs and bring additional economic
opportunities to the residents of Greene County. Greene County is a
great place to do business, and I’d like to congratulate Ferguson
Enterprises for recognizing the tremendous potential for this site
and thank them for investing in this community."
Assemblyman Pete Lopez said, "I'm very proud to be part of the
efforts to create new jobs and bring new investments to Greene
County. Ferguson Enterprises has demonstrated a keen interest in the
Hudson Valley, and I look forward to seeing the company be a
contributing member of our economy for many years to come. My office
is especially pleased with the efforts of René VanSchaack and the
Greene County IDA who laid the groundwork to make this project a
success."

Supervisor Richard Hanse said, "By choosing Coxsackie over 60 other
communities in seven states, Ferguson demonstrated faith in our
workforce and faith in our community. Through joining forces in a
public-private collaborative effort to bring the Ferguson project to
fruition, Coxsackie is assured a growing workforce and increasing
revenue long into the future. The choice of locating its newest
distribution center in our community is good for Ferguson and good
for Coxsackie."
Empire State Development President, CEO and Commissioner Howard
Zemsky said, "Governor Cuomo's commitment to the creation of new
jobs across the state is the driving force for the growing New York
economy. Ferguson, which has 11 distribution centers serving the
U.S. and Canada, opens its new distribution facility today, bringing
nearly 100 new jobs to the Capital Region. We thank Ferguson for
choosing New York State and look forward to the company’s success
here."
Ferguson CEO Frank Roach said, "Our newest distribution center is
now fully-operational and we are proud to welcome 75 associates to
the Ferguson family from Coxsackie. This project would not have
happened without the help and support of many - from various
statewide agencies to Greene County and its Industrial Development
Agency to the residents of Coxsackie. We look forward to a
long-lasting partnership with the community."
Greene County IDA Chairman Eric Hoglund said, "The Greene County IDA
appreciates Empire State Development's assistance in helping us
secure such a significant investment in our county. In today's
competitive environment, it is critical to work with agencies from
the state and with local partners to overcome obstacles, secure
deals, and grow the economy. I'm happy to say that is exactly what
happened with Ferguson Enterprises – thank you for making the
commitment to our region."
The project was supported by the Capital Region Economic Development
Council, as it aligns with the strategies for economic growth and
prosperity for the eight-county region.
