E.W. Leonard – At the Forefront of
Venting Issue.
|
In light of recent events involving deaths from carbon monoxide
poisoning due to failed venting of high efficiency equipment, we
are providing our expertise and experience to officials outside
of the industry. We met recently with a State Senator from New
Hampshire to educate her on both the dangers of using PVC for
venting and the legal ramifications of doing so.
As a result of this meeting, she is planning to bring up
legislation to protect contractors and homeowners from harm

In addition we are
having ongoing conversations with the Connecticut Plumbing and
Licensing Review Board on venting high efficiency equipment. In
particular we have discussed the liability issues arising from using
a plumbing material in an unapproved venting application. We have
also educated them on the pros and cons of the various types of
venting materials in general and polypropylene in particular. At
E.W. Leonard, we are committed to safety in the industry as well as
education.
