F.W. Webb expanding into Pennsylvania.

Massachusetts-based F.W. Webb Company will open its first
Pennsylvania plumbing, heating and refrigeration supply
warehouse in Hanover Township, Lehigh County this spring.
The supply house, at the site of the former Lehigh Valley Sports
Academy at 1655 Race Street, will open initially employ nine
people, and should have 20 employees by the end of 2015, said
general manager Pete Dwyer.
F.W. Webb is putting $4.5 million into a renovation of the
64,000-square-foot space that will include warehouse space,
training rooms and a 12,000 open-concept counter allowing
contractors to select their own supplies. It received no state
or local financial aid.
Dwyer said the company has been supplying propane dealers in the
area for years and initially wanted to open a local supply house
for those customers. The new wholesale outlet will also cater to
plumbing and heating contractors servicing residential and light
industrial clients.

"When we got down
there we saw the opportunity in Allentown and the Lehigh Valley.
This whole area is an area that seems to be growing well, we are at
a good point in the economic recovery where we think construction
will take off," Dwyer said. "The opportunity was there."
The company also plans a Frank Webb's Bath Center plumbing and bath
showroom at the location that will be open to homeowners, said
marketing director Alicia Criniti.
The 150-year-old family-run company is run by third-generation
president Jeff Pope. The Hanover Township warehouse will extend the
company's reach to nine states.
